Great Family Home in Outer Cove

6 Klondyke Road - mls listingWhile I generally use my blog to share news and events of interest to my clients in the greater St. John’s area, I occasionally like to post about some special MLS listings as well. And when I have a great new home listing like this one at 6 Klondyke Road, I definitely get excited to share it.

This family home is centrally located in Outer Cove, next to Kelly Park, with shopping nearby and only 5 minutes to the Outer Ring Road. It’s got 4 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms, and lots more space outside – it’s located on a huge, mature 1.5 acre lot. You’ll enjoy your privacy, including the private drive with 5 car parking lot.

Recently renovated in 2010, the exterior contains new siding, windows, doors and roof. Inside renovations include studs with new PVC piping, electrical and HVAC system throughout.

In beautiful Outer Cover on a great wooded lot with extra space for play, I’m sure this home will make a lucky family very happy – find the complete MLS listing here. Make sure to follow me on Facebook and Twitter so you’ll know about the next open house I’ll be hosting here. And of course I’m happy to show you this home, or any other Newfoundland real estate, anytime – please call me at 682-0744.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day 2015!

Clover to celebrate St. Patrick's Day from St. John's real estate agent

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all my clients, colleagues, friends and family. May the luck of the Irish be with you, despite our recent visit from Sheila’s Brush.

We take St. Paddy’s pretty seriously here in Newfoundland, because of our historic and cultural ties to Ireland. Over 81% of Newfoundlanders claim Irish ancestry, and the Irish community has survived and flourished here for a long time. You can read more about our unique history here.

Hopefully you got in a little fun last weekend, before the storm hit. And hopefully you have more fun planned for today, too. Remember, it’s not all about corned beef, cabbage and green beer – there’s lots of great ways to get your kids in on the action, too. Find some great, child-friendly activities here.

So again, here’s to a fun and safe St. Patrick’s Day, for you and yours. And remember that as we move into Spring, this is a great time in the real estate market, too – I have a beautiful new MLS listing on 6 Klondyke Road that I’m excited to show.  So like always, if you have any questions about Newfoundland real estate or my MLS listings, please call anytime at 682-0744.

Big Day for Bell Let’s Talk

Thumbs Up from St. John's realtor for Bell Let's Talk Day

If you’re on social media, you probably heard about Bell Let’s Talk day yesterday. Thankfully, so many of us did – because this year a whopping $6.1 million was raised for mental health initiatives!

This campaign was launched by Bell in 2010. Yesterday, for every tweet with #BellLetsTalk, Facebook post share, text or long distance call, Bell donated 5 cents to various organizations across the country (for a list of who they support in Newfoundland and Labrador, please see here). 122,150,772 texts and more later, and that’s a lot of money raised for a great cause!

I know I was happy to share and tweet, and many, many, many of you were, too. Hopefully, we didn’t just raise money, but consciousness as well. Their goal is to end the stigma surrounding mental health in Canada – which we can only do if we talk more openly about it. Days like yesterday are a great start. If you need help, please check these resources and reach out.

Finally, you may have noticed some changes to my website recently, but I’m still planning on sharing as much information as I can about St. John’s real estate and MLS listings on this blog – so please stay tuned!

Bell Let’s Talk Day Tomorrow!

SmartphoneJust a reminder – tomorrow is the Bell Let’s Talk day across Canada. For every text message, long distance call, Tweet with #BellLetsTalk and Facebook image share, Bell will be donating 5 cents to mental health initiatives across the country. Specifically in Newfoundland, their support goes to the College of the North Atlantic for important education, the Community Mental Health Initiative in Corner Brook, the Conception Bay Family Resource Program Inc., and the Eating Disorder Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.

This is a great cause, starting an important national conversation about mental health. I know I’ll be Tweeting and sharing, so make sure to follow suit!

Please Help Us Help the School Lunch Association!

Raising money for charity with local St. John's real estate agents

This February I’m partnering with Hanlon Realty to help a great cause, and I need your help.  We’re hosting an online auction from February 14 to February 22, with all proceeds going to the School Lunch Association. This fantastic local organization provides hot, nutritious lunches to primary and elementary school children, regardless of their families’ ability to pay.

I’m excited to be helping this great cause, but we need your help, too! For the next few weeks, we’re collecting new items to auction. Please note that tax receipts are available upon request. I think in particular this is a great opportunity for local businesses with items or services to donate. If you’d like to donate an item, please call David Yetman (725-5459) or the School Lunch Association (754-5323) for a pick up.

Our goal is to raise enough money to pay for 3000 hot lunches for for local children, and I know we can get there with your help. I’m proud to be part of an organization like Hanlon that is so dedicated to giving back. And if you’d like to follow the auction, please make sure to follow me on Facebook and Twitter!
